Organization of Student Workshops

1. Overview of Past Workshops

Previous DT student workshops were delivered by faculty and lab technical staff with differentiated themes: Prof LIU Dejang offered the Power BI Data Analysis workshop, Prof ZHANG Feng delivered the Biomedical Data Analysis workshop, and Mr LI Yue and Mr HE Pu co-hosted the Lab Equipment Introduction workshop.

2. Standard Workshop Organization Workflow

All workshops shall be organized in accordance with the unified standardized procedure below:

1. Student demand collection: Release workshop activity notices and distribute questionnaires to collect students’ participation intentions and confirm available time slots for participants.
2. Information submission: Submit the statistics of interested students and the proposed workshop time to Ms. TANG Tongyan: dt@hibiuh.edu.cn.
3. Venue reservation: Ms. TANG Tongyan will be responsible for reserving designated classrooms or laboratory venues for the workshop.
4. Workshop implementation: Officially launch and conduct the arranged workshop as scheduled.

3. Student Notification Mechanism

To facilitate unified student notification and management, three dedicated Moodle blocks were created by the Academic Affairs Office. All faculty members and lab technicians are granted teacher permissions for these blocks, with full access to release official notifications. Organizers may publish workshop announcements directly via the corresponding Moodle block after finalizing workshop arrangements.

4. Workshop Theme Management Rules

To avoid thematic duplication within the same semester, all confirmed workshop themes must be announced (by the organizer) in the Faculty Committee Chat Group (Teams). In principle, any workshop can be held on the premise of no thematic overlap in the current semester. Workshop content does not need to avoid overlap with regular course curricula, as workshops are independent non-compulsory activities.

5. Basic Regulations

1. Workshop participation is completely voluntary. Mandatory attendance is prohibited, and only students with learning intentions may participate.
2. Workshops are open to all DT students. Students from other majors are allowed to attend voluntarily, but no targeted external publicity or notification will be arranged for non-DT students.
3. Workshops are eligible for lab equipment usage, but regular courses take precedence over workshops in terms of both equipment allocation and time arrangement.

6. Eligibility for Workshop Organizers

All official faculty members and lab technicians are eligible to design and deliver workshops for DT students. In addition, the department will arrange invited lectures from the Company Contact Department and other administrative departments to deliver themed workshops with diverse and practical content in the future.
